Jon Scott is an American anchor working for FOX NEWS as an anchor who hosts Fox Report Weekend on weekends at 6 PM/ET. He joined the FOX NEWS news team in 1996, after previously working for KOMU-TV (NBC).

After graduating from Denver Lutheran High School, Scott pursued journalism at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Commencing his career as a correspondent for KOMU-TV (NBC) in Columbia, Missouri which is a station affiliated with Mizzou, he later held positions as the weekday evening news anchor, weekend co-anchor, and reporter for WPLG-TV (ABC) in Miami. Additionally, he worked as a reporter and bureau chief for KUSA-TV (NBC) in Denver. From 1988 onward, he contributed as a reporter for the syndicated news program Inside Edition. Between 1992 and 1995, he served as a correspondent for Dateline NBC. Taking on the role of host for A Current Affair, he eventually joined the Fox News Channel in 1996. A dedicated viewer of The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, he was hosting Fox News Live during the September 11 attacks.

Here, he notably became the first on-air reporter to suggest that Osama bin Laden might be behind the attacks. On May 1 and 2, 2011, he played the role of studio anchor for Fox News’ coverage of Osama bin Laden’s death. His contributions to news writing on the NBC program Dateline earned him an Emmy Award. Most recently, he played a crucial role in delivering breaking news coverage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, serving as the anchor for special reports as the conflict intensified throughout Ukraine. In August 2021, he conducted an interview with Qatari Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani. Here, he focused on the evacuation efforts from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. His involvement in FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage in 2020 contributed to the network achieving the highest-rated election night in cable news history, attracting 14.1 million total viewers.

In a noteworthy moment, he, alongside a group of distinguished journalists, was honored live on-air during the 2019 New Year’s Eve celebration in New York’s Times Square. During this event, they were given the privilege of pressing the button that lowers the iconic Waterford crystal ball. This marked the commencement of the 60-second countdown into the New Year. Furthermore, he is a frequent speaker at events honoring veterans and our military service personnel. In addition, he holds a pilot’s license, with qualifications to operate single-engine airplanes. Occasionally leveraging his aviation expertise, he applies his piloting skills when reporting on aviation-related events, exemplified by his coverage of the July 6, 2013, crash of Asiana Airlines Flight 214.
