Johnny Archer is an American news anchor and reporter working for NBC10 as a weekday and weekend anchor and reporter. He joined the NBC10 news team in December 2021, after previously working for WTVJ.
The Pennsylvania native attended Downingtown High School and Delaware County Community College. Archer received his bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media from Temple University. Having arrived at NBC10 in December 2021, Archer is committed to providing a voice to individuals who don’t think they’re being heard. As a reporter, he establishes a connection and a relationship with people who live in Philadelphia and presents real stories that motivate others to improve.
Archer worked as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor at Miami sister station WTVJ NBC 6 before coming to NBC10. Before that, Archer was employed by NBC 5 KXAS in Dallas, Texas, WHAS 11 News in Louisville, Kentucky, and KPVI-TV in Pocatello, Idaho. His most memorable story is flying an F/A-18 Hornet with the US Navy Blue Angels, however, he has covered many important stories. In addition, he is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. During his spare time, Archer enjoys adventuring outdoors, cycling, and volunteering at local community events.
