John Paul is an American anchor and reporter working for 6ABC as the co-anchor of the noon newscast. He joined the 6ABC news team in August 2022, as an anchor and reporter.
Prior to joining 6ABC, Paul worked in Charlotte, North Carolina and while he was there, he served as the morning, noon, and 7 p.m. anchor. John covered everything including presidential visits and hurricanes. In addition, for his outstanding work, he received many awards.
Kalamazoo, Michigan is Paul’s native home and he attended Western Michigan University where he majored in Journalism and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 2005. His journey in journalism began while he was 16 years old as he was part of a Cable Access video club in memory of a fellow high school student killed in a crash. Ever since he has been actively involved in television. During his spare time, he enjoys playing disc golf, visiting small towns with his family, and finding unique restaurants. He is also an Eagle Scout thus he loves HIKING and exploring nature.
Prior to joining WPVI-TV, Paul worked for WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he served as an anchor and reporter for seven years. Before then, he worked at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio where he served as a morning and noon anchor. He worked at WHIO for close to 8 years and while he was there, he won two Emmy awards for his work there. In addition, he has also worked at WTOV9 in Steubenville, Ohio, where he served as a weekend anchor and producer. In addition, he has also worked for WWMT in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he began as an assistant producer and was later promoted to being an assignment editor a position he held for 2 years.
