John Elliott is an American meteorologist working for CBS2 and he can be seen on This Morning and CBS2 News At Noon. He joined the CBS New York team in January 2007.
John Elliott Career
Before Elliott joined WCBS, he worked at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles where he worked for 2 years, as a morning weather host. Prior to that, he worked at MSNBC and NBC News for two years, and he was seen on weekday mornings on NBC as a weathercaster on “Early Today.” In addition, while John worked on MSNBC, he covered a number of assignments including serving as a correspondent and anchor. Elliott has also worked in Lowa State for MSNBC as a 2004 presidential campaign correspondent.
Furthermore, Elliott has also served as a reporter for many posts and bases in the nation while troops were deployed during the Iraq war. He has also worked onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. Before John joined NBC, he worked in San Diego for XETV-TV where he served as a morning anchor. In addition, he has also worked for KGET-TV, the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, California where he served as a morning news anchor. Elliott started working as a weathercaster at WRBL-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Georgia. Later on, he shifted to being a news anchor in Bakersfield.
For John’s general assignment reporting and news features, he has received many honors. He is a recipient of the California Associated Press award for Best Weathercaster. He attended Wayne State University in Detroit where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in radio, television, and film. He also attended Central Missouri State University where he earned a master’s in communications. In addition, Elliott has also studied at Mississippi State University where he studied meteorology. Prior to starting his broadcasting career, he served as a producer and advertising copywriter. Furthermore, he has taught media courses at Mott Community College in Central Missouri State and Flint, Michigan.
