Joel McKinnon Miller is an American Award-winning actor best known for starring in Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013-2021), Big Love (2006-2011), Station 19 (2023), Longmire (2017), and Good Luck Charlie (2014). He rose to fame after starring in the TV series The Staircase (2022).

On February 21, 1960, McKinnon Miller was born in Rockford, Minnesota. When he was younger, he studied opera and theater at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He also took opera singing lessons. In 1983, he left to join The Acting Company, but he later went back to complete his degree in theater with a focus on acting in 2007.
McKinnon Miller’s primary television role before Big Love was in three episodes of Las Vegas as Lyle Nubbin. As Detective Norm Scully, he played a pivotal role in the TV sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. At U.S. Bank Stadium on December 30, 2018, McKinnon Miller performed the national anthem. He said he had been a Minnesota Vikings supporter for his entire life.
