Joe Torres is an American anchor and reporter working for WABC-TV as a weekend evening co-anchor at 5, 6, and 11 pm on Eyewitness News This Weekend alongside Sandra Bookmang. He joined the WABC-TV team in 1996, as a general assignment reporter.

Brooklyn is Joe’s native home and he attended P.S. till the sixth grade. Later on, his family relocated to Northern Westchester County where he attended John Jay High School in Cross River. After having graduated from high school, Torres continues his education at SUNY Brockport where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications. In 2001, he covered the Greenpoint Gas Tank Implosions for which he received an Emmy award.

He covered the county government while he was at WSAV-TV and later on, he relocated to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where he worked for ABC affiliate WNEP-TV. Furthermore, while he was at WNEP-TV, he served as a general assignment reporter, consumer reporter, and weekend anchor. Later in 1992, Torres worked in the Jersey Shore for Disney/ABC-owned WPVI-TV in Philadelphia where he served as a correspondent.
