Joe Holden Biography
Joe Holden is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter who is currently working at CBS 3 as the weekend evening anchor of Eyewitness News on CBS 3 and The CW Philly a position he took up in August 2018. He joined the CBS 3 team in May 2016, as a general assignment reporter.
Prior to joining CBS 3 in 2016, he previously worked at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and while he was there, he covered high-profile stories such as Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia. Holden has also worked at WBRE-TV in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as an investigative reporter, and at WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, Virginia, and WPHL-TV in Philadelphia as an assignment editor. In addition, he is known for holding public officials accountable and for breaking many stories on political corruption and environmental issues. Some of the stories he has covered are connected to the reputed Kids for Cash scandal in Luzerne County and how public boards handled the rise of the Marcellus Shale industry in Susquehanna and Bradford counties.
Furthermore, he attended Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill and later joined St. Laurence Parochial School in Upper Darby where he graduated proudly. In 2002, he graduated from Cabrini College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and communication. While he was at Cabrini College, he was the editor-in-chief of the college newspaper, called The Loquitur. While Joe was a teenager, he served at St. Donato Parish in Overbrook as the choir director and organist and later became the director of music at St. Charles Borromeo in Drexel Hill. Joe’s love for music created a way for him into college.
