Jodi Hernandez is an American reporter working for KNTV as a general assignment reporter at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. She joined the KNTV news team in December 2002, after previously working for KAKE-TV.

Hernandez began her professional career after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of California at Berkeley at KCPM in Chico, California. After a while, she moved to KAKE-TV, an ABC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas where she worked for two years. She was then hired by KOVR, a CBS affiliate in Sacramento, California.
Some of Hernandez’ greatest achievements are, being awarded the RTNDA award for Best Special News Program for “The Condit Interview” and the honor by the Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association for a story she covered called “Dana’s Metamorphosis”. She also reported on the Laci Peterson case where she interviewed Scott Peterson; the Chandra Levy-Gary Condit story where she landed an exclusive interview with Congressman Gary Condit; as well as the California National Guard’s partnership program.
Hernandez is also an active member of the California Chicano News Media Association (CCNMA) and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). In addition, she mentors students at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Convention to produce a 30-minute student news magazine yearly. Hernandez keeps an active lifestyle doing aerobics, yoga, hiking, and traveling.
