Jo Kwon is an American anchor and reporter working for Spectrum News 1 as a multimedia journalist. She joined the Spectrum News 1 news team in September 2018, after previously working for CBS News.

Kwon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Jo had a desire to be a reporter since she was five years old. She brings more than ten years of expertise and a true passion for entertaining and educating to Spectrum News 1. Her most recent creations are two half-hour programs titled “Swell Beaches,” which highlight dog-friendly beaches in Southern California, bodyboarding, surfing, and other activities. Before she joined Spectrum News 1 SoCal, Jo worked as a multimedia journalist covering stories during the 5 p.m. CBS 2 News and 8 p.m. KCAL 9 News. Jo joined iHeartMedia in 2014 as a morning news anchor on KOST, 103.5 FM, and KFI, 640 AM. She spent a year working as a one-man band reporter and multi-media journalist at Spectrum, which was formerly known as Time Warner Cable, in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
Before that, Jo spent two years working as a reporter, writer, and producer at KCRW. As a general assignment reporter for KABC Radio, Jo covered Michael Jackson’s death, Euna Lee, and Lara Ling’s return home from North Korea, Station Fire. Jo was the web editor news assistant and producer of “Money 101”, a program that aired on CBS Radio. She also interned at KSBY-TV, an NBC Affiliate, and The Cambrian and The Sun-Bulletin
