Jim Weber is an American meteorologist working for FOX 13 News as a weekday noon meteorologist. He has been working for the station since February 1995.
Weber was born in Cincinnati Ohio, and when he was around 9 years old, he relocated with his family to Tampa Bay. While being brought up in Sarasota, he gained an interest in weather and he can recall tracking hurricanes with the help of his atlas and trying to understand what made the storms so unforeseeable. For Weber’s love for weather, he decided to join Florida State University where he studied meteorology and graduated in 1994, with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology with a minor in mathematics.
Apart from his interest in the weather, he is also a computer scientist which has worked for him as a meteorologist and assisted him to grow McIdas HD for use on TV and on the web. Jim is also useful in buoy data maps on the MyFoxHurricane.com website and in developing numerous tropical computer model animations. In addition, he is certified by the West Central Florida Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the American Meteorological Society. He is a member of the meteorological honor society Chi Epsilon Pi. During his leisure time, he enjoys riding his Trek on local bike trails and traveling.
