Jessica Schaer Biography
Jessica Schaer is an American anchor working for KSN as the evening anchor on KSN Local News at 6 & 10 pm each weeknight. She joined the KSN news team in November 2013, after previously working for KODE-TV.
Schaer graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2008. While there, she was part of Gamma Phi Beta, USC Repertory Dance Company, USC Songfest, and BreakThrough Hip-Hop Dance Team. Later on, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 2012. Here, she was part of the 4FSU Weather Show, Golden Key International Honour Society, American Meteorological Society, Dean’s List, and President’s List.
She began her professional career as a weekend meteorologist and reporter in July 2012 at KODE-TV. Where she was a weekend meteorologist weekday night-side reporter and fill-in meteorologist for morning and evening weekday shows. After working with the team for a year and five months, she moved to KSN-TV in November 2013 as a news anchor. In addition, she is now a full-time news reporter, but she continues to assist with extreme weather coverage.
During her time, she has covered many breaking news stories from fires to missing children, to storm damage. Additionally, she has been recognized by the Missouri Broadcasters Association with three Certificates of Merit and a 2nd place award from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. She is a devoted USC Trojan and a proud Seminole from Florida State University. Furthermore, she is an even more proud husky dog mom.
