Jenn Bernstein Biography

Jenn Bernstein is an American Emmy award-winning news anchor and political host working for FOX 61. She serves as the weekday evening anchor at 6 pm and 10 pm, and as the host of The Real Story Sundays which airs on Sundays at 10 am. Bernstein re-joined FOX 61 team in August 2014, after previously working for CBS Philly/KYW-TV. 

Simsbury is her native home and she attended Simsbury High School where she graduated proudly. Later in 2002, she joined Union College in Schenectady, New York where she graduated in 2006, with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Bernstein did a story, Anatomy of An Attack Ad, which analyzed campaign messages during Connecticut’s contentious gubernatorial contest, and for this, she won an Emmy award in 2015. In addition, she re-joined the FOX61 team in August of 2014, after previously working at the station from 2010-2012, while serving as a general assignment reporter.

While she worked at FOX61 for the first time, she received an Emmy nomination for a series of stories she did on bullying in schools. Jenn also covered severe weather events for the two years she worked at FOX61.  In 2010, she reported live during the Blizzard that year, and later in 2011, she reported from the beach in Fairfield after Tropical Storm Irene hit Connecticut. In addition, she reported live as the October Nor’Easter slammed the state, knocking out power to almost 900,000 homes in Connecticut. Furthermore, she also focused on politics, including covering Governor’s campaign in 2010, where Democrat Dan Malloy faced off against Republican Tom Foley. She also served as an Adjunct Graduate Journalism Professor at Quinnipiac University in 2010.

Furthermore, from 2012 to 2014, she worked at KYW-the CBS affiliate in Philadelphia where she served as a reporter. While Bernstein worked at KYW, she reported on the aftermath of the Penn State Sex Abuse Scandal in addition to covering preparations for Hurricane Sandy in Atlantic City. When the storm made landfall, Jenn provided live reports from the beach for d WCBS in New York City and for KYW. In addition, she also reported on the clean-up efforts of Sandy’s devastation from Long Beach Island while escorted by The National Guard. In addition, she also did a number of live reports for CBS This Morning, and her work was aired on CBS affiliates around the country.
