JC Monahan is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter who is currently working at WBTS and NECN. She served as the evening news anchor at the stations. In addition, she joined the NBC10 news team as a weekend meteorologist back in 2001.

She has been serving as a journalist for more than twenty-five years not only as an anchor and reporter but also as an AMS-sealed meteorologist. Furthermore, she served as a meteorologist for ten years on the weekday EyeOpener, she was promoted to serving as the co-anchor of the Chronicle, the station’s evening magazine show.
While she served as a co-anchor on Chronicle, she earned both a regional Edward R. Murrow award and a Gracie award. Furthermore, she also served as WCVB’s evening news anchor. While working at WCVB, she also helped develop a live special for the Boston Strong concert, co-hosting a one-hour special on the first anniversary and covering the Boston Marathon tragedy
In addition, she has traveled extensively throughout New England, reporting from northern Vermont to southern Rhode Island. Some of the outstanding events she covered include; covering Pope Francis’ first trip to the U.S. and the presidential election of Donald Trump. Additionally, she reported for NBC10 Boston from the Super Bowl in Minnesota and spent over a month in South Korea covering the Winter Olympics.
Newton is her native home. She attended the University of Maine where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism in 1994. In addition, she also studied at Mississippi State University where she was a graduate of its Broadcast Meteorology program.
During her leisure time, she enjoys being with friends and family, reading, dancing, and trying to keep up with her kids. Furthermore, she lives by the motto “Life is not a dress rehearsal. Live it.”
