Janice Dean is a Canadian-American meteorologist working for FOX News Channel as a senior meteorologist on weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. She joined the FOX News Channel team in January 2004, after previously working for WFAN-AM.

Dean received an honors diploma from Algonquin College in Radio & Television Broadcasting. She contributes to FOX Weather, the free ad-supported streaming television (“FAST”) weather service from FOX News Media, and is the morning meteorologist for FOX & Friends, the network’s flagship morning show, which airs weekdays from 6 to 9 AM/ET. Dean has covered several catastrophic hurricanes for FNC throughout her time there, including Hurricanes Irene, Igor, Earl, Katrina, Harvey, Irma, Sandy, and 2021’s Ida.
Dean worked for Imus in the Morning, which broadcasted on WFAN-AM New York and was nationally broadcasted on MSNBC, as the news editor and entertainment reporter before joining the network. He hosted a number of radio shows in Houston, Texas from 1998 to 2001, including Metro Networks, KODA-FM, KKBQ-FM, and KLDE-FM. Prior to working at the radio station, Dean was a weekend on-air traffic reporter for CBS 2 New York. In 1997, she also hosted the weather on camera for CBOT Television.
Dean started her career as a reporter, DJ, and co-host of the morning show at CHEZ-FM in Ottawa, Canada. She moved on to work for CHUM Limited, also in Ottawa, Canada, where she held a number of roles such as producer and host of The Broad Perspective on CFRA, anchor for KOOL-FM, and morning news anchor for Breakfast at the New RO. Dean is a member of the American Meteorological Society and was awarded the AMS Seal of Approval in 2009.

In 2005, Dean was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a neurological disease with no cure, after experiencing “classic symptoms” of the disease such as numbness, tingling, and fatigue. At first, she thought it was due to her demanding and busy work schedule as a journalist, but the symptoms wouldn’t go away. She went to the doctor, who referred her to a neurologist.
While sharing her story live on air, in June 2023, during World MS Day, she shared a special message about her battle with the disease. She described the disease as the ‘invisible illness,’ the ‘My, you look so well’ disease because people can be looking fine, but inside of their body is attacking its central nervous system, the brain, and the spine. Dean also revealed that, on World MS Day, she had been feeling a flare-up of symptoms. She encouraged her fellow “MS warriors” who continue to keep pushing on despite it all.
