Jan Carabeo Biography
Jan Carabeo is an American anchor who is currently working at CBS3 Eyewitness News where she serves as the weekend morning anchor a position she took up in January 2017. She joined the CBS3 team in March 2014 as a reporter.
Prior to relocating to Philadelphia, she worked at WTIC-TV in Hartford, Connecticut where she served as an anchor and reporter during the morning news show. Carabeo also worked at WSYR-TV in Syracuse, New York as a reporter, WICZ-TV and WIVT-TV/WBGH-TV both in Binghamton. In 2011, she earned a New York Associated Press award for Best News Series called Gold Star Mom, which was about a mother’s fight against the Department of Motor Vehicles to maintain a commemorative license plate in memory of her son who passed in Vietnam.
Maryland is her native home and she attended the University of Maryland where she studied in its Philip Merrill College of Journalism and graduated summa cum laude with a major in journalism and a minor in English language and literature.
