Jamie Tompkins Biography

Jamie Tompkins is an American anchor working for FOX13  where she serves as a weekday evening co-anchor at 5 pm, 6 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm, alongside David Rose. She joined the Q13 team in January 2014, after previously working for KOMO 4 News. 

She has been working in the Western Washington area since 2011, and she began her television career back in 2003. Tompkins began working in a local government television where she served as the host and producer for Union TV34. In addition, while she was at the station, her responsibilities ranged from shooting and video, writing content to hosting a number of informational and entertainment programming.  She was promoted to serving as the host of Comcast Newsmakers in 2005, and on the show, she interviewed Governors, local politicians, and State Attorneys General.

Furthermore, her duties also included conducting celebrity interviews across New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Later in 2007, she accepted a job at TV36 where she served as a Director of Operations. While she worked at  TV36, she oversaw all production of station content, both technical and creative, inclusive of the creation of seven original programs, that aired monthly. In addition, she also worked at WATE 6 NEWS (ABC) in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2009, where she was an anchor and reporter. While she was at the station, she did extensive coverage of the 278th, documenting their training and preparations for deployment to Iraq.

In addition, Jamie later relocated to Seattle in 2011 and joined KOMO News as a news anchor and reporter for a period of two years till January 2014, when she left the station. Over the years, she has been awarded a number of Emmy awards, Davy awards, and Telly awards. During her sparer time, she enjoys being on the Tolt River on a paddle board, exploring the trails of the base of Mt. Si, weight lifting, and dancing.
