Jamie Jarosik is an American meteorologist who is currently working at WDTN. She serves as the 4:30 am to 7 am meteorologist on 2 News Today and on Dayton’s CW 7 am-9 am. In addition, she works alongside anchors Lauren Wood and John Seibel.
Jamie Jarosik Career
She had originally joined the station in 2001 and served as a meteorologist under the name of Jamie Krumheuer till 2004. Later on, she rejoined the station in October 2006. Previously, she worked at KSHB-TV in Kansas City, Missouri. While she worked at KSHB-TV, she gained extensive storm tracking experience, as the Central Plains can produce the most dangerous thunderstorms.
In addition, she has worked in a number of stations including; WCHS-TV in Charleston, West Virginia, WIFR-TV in Rockford, Illinois where she served as a weathercaster, and KTVH-TV in Helena, Montana where she was a chief forecaster. Furthermore, she holds the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA) Seal of Approval.
Kettering is her native home and she attended Ohio University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. Additionally, she did also attend Mississippi State University where she studied meteorology and in 2003, she completed the Broadcast Meteorology Program.
Furthermore, she was voted as the Favorite Weather Personality in a Dayton Daily News Reader’s Poll in January 2003. Later on, she won the Favorite Weather Personality distinction in February 2016, through a social media contest. In March 2016, she was honored “40 Under 40” award by the Dayton Business Journal.
During her sparer time, she enjoys volunteering with Hospice of Dayton and the City of Kettering, playing tennis, and running. In addition, she is a member of the City of Kettering’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Advisory Board.
