Jamie Gutfreund is a Canadian anchor working for CP24 as a co-host of CP24 Breakfast on Weekend and a reporter. He joined the CP24 news team in 2008, after previously working for CBC.

Gutfreund graduated with an Honors Diploma in Recording Arts Management from The Harris Institute For The Arts. In 2001 his passion for journalism took shape, prompting him to enroll in and complete the broadcast journalism program. This led him to join Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology for an Honors Diploma in Broadcast Journalism in 2006. Here he earned an award for “Best Documentary” at the Seneca College Media Awards. He is also a professor of Broadcast Journalism at Seneca College.
Before joining CP24, he worked at CBC’s The National and Newsworld in various editorial roles. He started his journey at CP24 as an editorial assistant in August 2008, and he later transitioned to the role of a general assignment reporter. In his behind-the-scenes work at CP24, he contributed to covering various stories, such as the 2009 H1N1 flu outbreak, the 2009 Inauguration of U.S. President Barack Obama, special coverage of the 2008 Canadian Federal Election, and the Sunrise Propane explosion in August 2008.
Later on, he expanded his role at CP24, becoming an on-air member of the weather and traffic team in May 2009. In 2011, he took on the role of Remote Host for CP24 BREAKFAST, reporting from various city events such as parades, festivals, fundraisers, and musical events, including the MMVAs. His energetic reports were featured on 104.5 CHUM FM, MuchMusic, and CTV NEWS CHANNEL. In 2014, he was appointed as the Co-Host of CP24 BREAKFAST WEEKEND. His contributions to journalism were recognized when he was selected as the National and Regional winner of Best in Journalism at the 2016 Notable Awards.
Additionally, he has diverse interests and hobbies with a passion for music and enjoys outdoor activities such as swimming, cycling, and running. He is also an avid concert-goer, a motorcycle enthusiast, and an animal lover.
