Jamie Guirola Biography
Jamie Guirola is an American reporter working for WTVJ as a general assignment reporter. He joined the WTVJ news team in January 2014.
Miami, Florida is Guirola’s native home and while he was 17 years old, he became the first NBC 6 Junior Broadcaster to ever give live on-air reports. Jamie has served as a television reporter and anchor for over 15 years. Before joining the NBC 6 news team, Jamie worked for CBS Miami and a number of other stations across the country such as; WHNS in Greenville, South Carolina; WKMG in Orlando, Florida, WTVH in Syracuse, New York, and KLAS in Las Vegas.
In addition, Guirola’s love for television began at Miami Sunset Senior High School where he served as a producer of the school’s television program. Jamie later attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in Broadcast Journalism. Furthermore, Miani is Jamie’s native home and he is a mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Guirola is also a member of the Miami Beach LGBTQ Advisory Committee and a regular emcee for the annual Equality Florida Gala. For a short stint, Guirola worked on the Florida Department of Health’s Transgender Workgroup. Furthermore, during Jamie’s leisure time, he enjoys cooking, working out spending quality time with his dog “Digits,” CrossFit, and hanging out with his friends and family
