Jamie Apody is an American sports anchor and reporter working for 6ABC as a weekly sports anchor and reporter. She joined the 6ABC/ WPVI-TV news team in January 2006, and previously, she worked at KDBC TV.
Los Angeles is Apody’s native home and prior to working at Action News, she traveled to Spring Training in Clearwater with the Phillies. She also traveled with the Flyers to the Stanley Cup Finals, with the Eagles to the NFC Championship, and with the Villanova Wildcats to the Final Four. In addition, her most memorable experience was being on the field during the final pitch in 2008, during the winning of the Phillies World Series.
She was on the parade route down Broad Street during the clubhouse for the champagne celebration. Aside from being a sports anchor and reporter, she is also the co-chair of the Gary Papa Run. Jamie is also on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Before Apody relocated to Philadelphia, she worked at KDBC in El Paso, Texas where she served as the sports director. Apody attended the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in communications. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a 2nd-degree black belt in karate.
