James Gregorio Biography
James Gregorio is an American meteorologist working for News 12 New Jersey as a morning meteorologist. He joined News 12 New Jersey in 1997, after previously working for WRIC-TV.
Gregorio was brought up in Montauk, New York on the eastern tip of Long Island’s South Shore. He attended East Hampton High School where he graduated in 1990 and later on joined Ithaca College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in television and radio in 1994, and was named to the Dean’s List. In addition, James also attended Mississippi State University where he studied broadcast meteorology.
Thereafter, James earned both the National Weather Association’s Television Seals of Approval and the American Meteorological Society for excellence and quality in weather forecasting and presentation. As of the moment, Gregorio still holds the American Meteorological Society Television Seal of Approval. In addition, he has served as a weather anchor and reporter in Richmond, Virginia, and Roanoke, Virginia. Each holiday, he can be seen delivering a mock weather forecast in Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular.
Furthermore, Gregorio has been honored with many awards and accolades, and not long ago, the Christopher Columbus Parade of Lodi awarded him with a Community Service Award. He is also heavily involved with charitable organizations across New Jersey including the Polar Bear Plunge event which he takes part in annually. Whenever he finds time, he visits a number of classrooms across the state and shares his weather knowledge with wide-eyed students.
