Jake Gadon is an American Sports anchor and reporter working for CBS 13 as a morning anchor and reporter from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. He joined the CBS 13 news team in 2022, after previously working for KOAA.
Jake Gadon Career
Gadon is a proud graduate of the Old Saybrook High School and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication at Arizona State University. He moved to the hometown of Booby Miles & the Permian Panthers in the spring of 2016 after graduating to take a job as the Sports Director at KOSA, the CBS station in Midland-Odessa.
The Connecticut native has been honored for his work including being named the Colorado Broadcasters Association Sportscaster as well as Texas Associated Press honors for Best Sports Anchor, Sports Program, and Sportscast while he lived in West Texas. Jake made a career move by joining KOAA, the NBC station in Colorado Springs in June 2019, as a sports anchor and reporter, following three years of employment under Friday Night Lights. In February 2020, Jake was given a promotion to Sports Director. In 2022, he was awarded Colorado Sportscaster of the Year.
Jake took a new job as a sports anchor with CBS Sacramento (KOVR O&O) in November 2022. Throughout his career, Jake has covered more than 5,000 events, including high school, NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB games. Highlights of his career have included covering the 2023 Sacramento Kings and their playoff run, the 2023 San Francisco 49ers Playoff run, the 2020 NHL Stadium Series game at Falcon Stadium, and the record 11-win season (including a Cheez-It Bowl victory) that Air Force football had.
Whether covering a sporting event from the studio, the press box, or the field, Jake always gives it his all! Most recently, he covered Nikola Jokic’s back-to-back NBA MVP campaigns with the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche on their drive to the Stanley Cup. Jake saw the excitement of Friday Night Lights up close while watching the legendary Permian Panthers & Midland Lee Rebels in Texas. During his spare time, Gadon enjoys skiing, and hunting for new local restaurants and bakeries as he considers himself a pizza and chocolate chip cookie connoisseur.
