Ivan Cabrera Biography

Ivan Cabrera is an American meteorologist working for CBS4 Miami as the chief meteorologist. He joined the CBS Miami team in July 2022, after previously working for KOB4 as the chief meteorologist. 

Cabrera was brought up in Miami and he attended Florida State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1994. Ivan holds a Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. He has worked for KOB 4 and Telemundo in Albuquerque, New Mexico as the chief meteorologist in addition to also working for CNN and HLN as a meteorologist. Cabrera has also served as a meteorologist for; WESH-TV in Orlando, WFTS-TV in Tampa, and The Weather Company, and made regular appearances on Fox News Channel.

Over the years, Cabrera has forecasted and led viewers, on both the national and local levels during many storms and hurricane catastrophes such as Charlie, Katrina, and Sandy. During hurricane seasons, Ivan works with his team alongside the National Hurricane Center, emergency managers, and elected officials to give viewers the straightforward information they need to protect what matters most when it matters most.
