Ian Leonard Biography

Ian Leonard is an American meteorologist working for FOX 9 as the chief meteorologist. He joined the FOX 9 team in 2006, after previously working at KWWL.

Leonard attended Mississippi State University where he studied geosciences and meteorology. He survived cancer and completed the Lake Placid Ironman 140.6 and learned how to empty the dishwasher at home.

In addition, Ian tirelessly works for the over 8,000 athletes of Special Olympics Minnesota throughout the year with the annual Polar Plunge in the winter and in the fall with his Bad Pants Open Golf Tournament. Furthermore, Leonard has assisted in raising more than $20 million for Special Olympics Minnesota in the last 14 years and he plans to continue doing the same.

Ian underwent a MOHs surgery to remove cancer which was a success later he underwent plastic surgery to repair his lower lip.
