Menino is a proud graduate of the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University and majored in communications with an emphasis in broadcast news in 2005. She began her professional career in Roseburg, Oregon, and later moved to Eugene, where she took on roles in reporting, producing, and anchoring. Starting in the summer of 2008, she transitioned to anchoring mornings and has remained on a morning schedule ever since.
In 2012, she made a move to Salt Lake City, Utah, joining a legacy morning news team as a third anchor. Over six-and-a-half years in Utah, she refined her reporting and anchoring skills. During her time in Utah, she initiated the station’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) franchise. She also played a key role in launching the station’s first “Live Desk” position and contributed to the creation of a podcast focused on children called “Baby Your Baby.”
She had the privilege of covering significant news stories, both from the field and the anchor desk. Notable assignments included reporting on a massive landslide in North Salt Lake, Utah, a high school shooting in Roseburg, Oregon, and an international assignment to cover stories in China. Notably, her investigative reporting has resulted in several exclusive stories, with the most significant being the resolution of a 15-year-old cold case.
This story earned her first place in both general reporting and investigative reporting at the 2011 Society of Professional Journalists’ Northwest Excellence in Journalism contest. She is not only a dedicated journalist but also an active and committed member of her community.
