Heather Holmes Biography

Heather Holmes is an American two-time Regional Emmy award-winning anchor who is currently working at KTVU. She serves as the anchor of the 4 and 7 p.m newscast and reports during the week on The Ten O’Clock News. In addition, she joined the KTVU TEAM IN 2006, after previously working in  New York.

Prior to joining KTVU, she worked at WPIX in New York City where she served as a fill-in anchor and reporter. While she worked at, WPIX, she covered several breaking news events while she served as a reporter for the WB11 News at Ten.

Holmes has also worked at News 12 Long Island from 2002 to 2005 where she served as an anchor and reporter. While she worked at News 12, she received many accolades including two regional Emmy awards. In addition, while she served as an environmental reporter at the New York area station she; exposed problems within the county’s land acquisition program and uncovered illegal dumping in county-owned parks.

Furthermore, she tapped to cover breaking news events including reporting from Boston on the Catholic Priest Sex Abuse Scandal, traveling to Pennsylvania for the Mepham High School Hazing Scandal, and anchoring coverage of the Great Blackout of 2003. In addition, from 2000 to 2002, she worked at WCBS in New York where she served as a field producer and writer.

While she worked at CBS, she covered the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. In addition, she started her journalism career at KLBK in Lubbock, Texas where she served a morning anchor and reporter.
