Hana Kim is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter working for FOX13 Seattle as a weeknight anchor at 4 pm and 9 pm. She joined the Q13 team in May 2012, after previously working for WATE where she was also an anchor and reporter for 5 years.
East Coast is her native home and she was brought up in Northern Virginia right on the outskirts of DC. She attended the University of Maryland-College Park where she studied journalism and after graduating, she was able to secure a job at CTV which is a government-run news operation covering Prince George’s County in Maryland. In addition, Hana has also worked in Tennessee, and one of her most memorable stories while working at the ABC affiliate in Knoxville was her investigation into the opioid epidemic. In addition, she uncovered an opioid pipeline from Florida to Tennessee, and her investigation received an Associated Press award and an Edward R. Murrow award for Best Enterprise.
Furthermore, while working at FOX13, Kim Ha covered many issues such as real estate trends, government accountability, crime, homelessness, and mental health issues. For her news series that was not only aimed to educate people on teen suicide but also to change the dialogue, she won an Emmy award.
