Haley Hinds Biography
Haley Hinds is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX 13 Tampa Bay as a weekend evening co-anchor. She joined the FOX 13 News team in October 2014, after previously working for WINK-TV.
While Haley was in the eaighth-grade, she has a field trip to KDKA-TV in her hometown of Pittsburgh that assisted her to realize that a career in television news was definitely in her future. In 2000, Hinds joined Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School where she graduated with a diploma in 2004. Later on, she joined Waynesburg University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication and electronic media in 2008. Prior to relocating to Tampa, she worked at WINK News in Fort Myers for 5 years while serving as an anchor and reporter.
In addition, while she worked at WINK, she had the opportunity to travel all over the state while covering stories such as went skydiving (twice!) with the United State, witnessed the execution of Manuel Valle in Starke, and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in Pensacola. Furthermore, the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters honored Hinds in 2013, with the Best Individual Achievement Award for excellence in covering a number of breaking news, hard news and feature stories.
Prior to relocating to Florida, she worked at WTVH/WSTM in Syracuse, New York where she served as a multimedia journalist. While she worked at the station, she broke the story on the missing persons case of Aeryn Gillern, which gained international attention and she also covered Onondaga County’s first hate-crime murder trial. During her leisure time, she enjoys cooking, singing, competing in marathons, painting, sampling every slice of pizza she encounters, and exploring local waterways on a stand-up paddleboard.
