Ginger Zee Biography
Ginger Zee is an American meteorologist working for ABC News as a Chief Meteorologist and Chief Climate Correspondent. She joined the ABC news team in October 2011, after previously working for NBC.

Zee has covered hundreds of historic storms and nearly every significant weather event since joining ABC News. She reported from the Jersey Shore’s devastation during Hurricane Sandy, the Colorado floods and wildfires, and the Moore and El Reno, Oklahoma, tornado aftermath. She covered extreme weather events in 2013 including the Boston blizzard and the Death Valley heat wave that broke records. Zee provided coverage of Hurricane Matthew’s east coast route in 2016. Zee’s enthusiasm for storm chasing never ends.
She has traveled the world with her passion for adventure and ABC News viewers. Prior to that position, Zee was a member of Storm Team 8 at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she covered science, the environment, and the effects of the weather on West Michigan. Zee worked for WEYI NBC 25 in Flint, Michigan from 2003 until 2005. She started working in Grand Rapids, Michigan’s WLAV FM/WXMI. She, who has been chasing storms since college, is genuinely passionate about the atmosphere and committed to igniting young people’s curiosity about science. Zee voices “Dr. Zephyr Skye,” the storm-chasing extraterrestrial from the popular Disney Junior program “Miles from Tomorrowland.” Zee also appears on DIY Network’s “Renovation Realities: Ben & Ginger” with her husband, Ben Aaron.
The Emmy Award-winning meteorologist studied meteorology at Valparaiso University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in the field. From 2008 to 2011, she was also an adjunct lecturer at the university. In addition, Zee has the CBM Seal in Meteorology. She lives in the city of New York.

She revealed her pregnancy for her second child on Good Morning America on August 14, 2017. She gave birth to Miles Macklin, another son, in February 2018.
