Gina Gaston is an American anchor and reporter who is currently working at ABC13 Houston. She serves as the 6 and 10 pm anchor of Eyewitness News. In addition, she joined the KTRK news team in 1992.
Gina Gaston Career
In the year 1999, she left the station and relocated to New York where she worked at MSNBC. In addition, she rejoined the KTRK-TV(Houston) team in June 2001 as a reporter and co-anchor for Eyewitness News at 6 pm and Eyewitness News at 10 pm.
While serving as the anchor of 13 Eyewitness News, some of the stories she has covered include; the Democratic National Convention, the Rockets Championships, and the O.J. Simpson trial in Los Angeles. Furthermore, while she was at MSNBC, she served as a network correspondent anchoring the 2000 presidential election from coast-to-coast, inclusive of the Florida ballot recounts.
In addition, she anchored President George W. Bush’s Inaugural activities, the South American earthquake, the Mid-East Violence, the United States bombing in the Iraqi no-fly zone, and Elian Gonzales’ departure to Cuba. Furthermore, she also worked at NBC where she served as the weekend fill-in anchor for the Weekend Today show.
Furthermore, she also did interview Hillary Rodham Clinton, Olympia Snowe, and Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison. Other people she also interviewed include; Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating, the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, and the Reverend Jesse Jackson.
Previously, she worked at WTSP-TV in Tampa, Florida where she served as an anchor and reporter. Furthermore, she also worked at WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and KLTV in Tyler, Texas where she also served as an anchor and reporter.
In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists prior to being honored by the Associated Press Broadcasters for News Reporting. For her education, she attended and proudly graduated from the University of Southern California.
