Having graduated from Columbia Business School, Willis also holds a degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she participated as a Knight-Bagehot Fellow. Before becoming part of Fox Business, she held the position of personal finance editor at CNN. She hosted a weekly half-hour program named Your Bottom Line, focusing on strategies to help Americans save money and examining the economy’s impact on personal finance. Prior to her tenure at CNN, she served as the senior financial correspondent at Smart Money magazine.
She joined the Fox Business Network in March 2010, contributing to various programs on the network. During an interview with Westchester Magazine in the same month, she shared the news that she had been in remission since the beginning of that year. On January 28, 2020, it was announced that Willis would be taking a leave of absence as she undergoes surgery to address pre-cancerous cells.
