George Pennacchio Biography
George Pennacchio is an American reporter and host working for ABC 7 as the entertainment reporter and host of Oscar specials. He joined the ABC 7 team in 1996, after previously working at KFMB.
While Pennacchio has been serving as a broadcast journalist, he has won three Emmy Awards for his outstanding work. The Publicists Guild of America also honored him for his coverage of the entertainment industry. George is also among the few journalists who have received The Critics’ Critic Award from The Broadcast Film Critics Association, which is North America’s largest critics group.
In 2007, George was on an assignment in South Africa to cover the opening of “The Lion King.” He also did a series of reports on health, entertainment, and social programs that empower the women of South Africa. In addition, he has also served on the board of The Thalians which is a charity group that raises money for the maintenance of the Thalians Mental Health Center at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. Together with his wife, they support a number of greyhound charities that are devoted to saving the dogs once their racing days are over.
