Garvin Thomas is an American Emmy Award Winning anchor working for KNTV as a photographer, reporter, fill-in anchor, and editor for morning evening, and weekend newscasts. He joined the KNTV news team in July 2004, after previously working for KABC-TV.

Thomas began his professional career after pursuing his degree at Boston College, where he majored in Germanic Studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1988 as an associate producer and was also involved in Monitor Broadcasting in Berlin, Germany, in World Monitor. He then went on to be a reporter at WCCO-TV, WHDH-TV, and KABC-TV consecutively for ten years.
Thomas has more than two decades of experience working in television news. This has led him to receive multiple national, regional, and local awards for both his reporting and photography. Which include three Northern California Emmy Awards, the Gabriel Award awarded by the Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals for feature reporting in the top 25 markets, the Edward R. Murrow Award, the New England Emmy Award, and the Sigma Delta Chi Award.
