Fred Roggin is an American Emmy award-winning sports anchor who is currently working at KNBC. He serves on the weekdays at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m on NBC4. In addition, she joined the NBC4 news team in 1980.

Prior to being a sports anchor, he was also the host of ‘Going Roggin,’ which is a 30-minute sports commentary program that airs on Saturdays at 3 p.m. and Sundays at 12 midnight. Furthermore, he is also the creator and host of ‘The Challenge,’ NBC4’s live. While working as the leading sports anchor in Southern California were earned more than numerous L.A. Press Club Awards, three prestigious Associated Press Awards, 22 Golden Mike Awards, and 30 L.A. Emmy Awards.

For Lifetime Achievement he has bestowed the Joseph M. Quinn Award from The Los Angeles Press Club in 2013, was inducted into the California Sports Hall of Fame in 2019, and inducted into the Southern California Sports Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame in 2014. Prior to receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Radio and Television News Association of Southern California in 2020.

Furthermore, since 1984, he has been a network host and reporter including in Salt Lake, Turin, Sydney, Beijing, Athens, London, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. When he joined the NBC4 news team he first served as a weekend sports anchor and weekday reporter and later on, he became the station’s primary sports anchor and reporter.

Detroit is his birth home but later he was brought up in Phoenix. He attended Phoenix College where he studied broadcasting. Roggin lives with his family in the San Fernando Valley. In addition, he started his broadcasting career in 1976 as a sports anchor, reporter, and play-by-play announcer for KIKO Radio in Globe, Arizona.

He served as a sports anchor, reporter, and sports director at KBLU Radio and KYEL-TV in Yuma, Arizona in 1977. Later on, he joined KVUE-TV in Austin, Texas where he served as a sports director and anchor, and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked at KPNX-TV serving as a weekday sports anchor.
