Wang received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. Before joining NBC10, Frances was an anchor and reporter on different stations, including at WFOR in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area for three years, at KXTV, an ABC affiliate station in Sacramento, California, and as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KREM in Spokane, Washington Area. Frances also spent time as an intern at CNN, E! News, and KABC-TV in Los Angeles. One of her greatest achievements was being recognized by the Sacramento Kings with their “Community Impact” award for her coverage and engagement with the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
As a devoted volunteer and supporter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation for many years, Frances got to know Sammie, a young lady who was a Wish Kid who had become an ambassador for the organization, helping other children and raising money to fight cancer. Unfortunately, Sammie’s cancer came back, and not long after she graduated from high school, she passed suddenly. Her last wish was to gather enough cash to fulfill the wish of another child. In the Foundation’s history, they raised over $165,000, setting a record for the entire country. During her spare time, Wang enjoys spending time with family and friends and trying out new restaurants.
