Evelyn McGee-Colbert Biography
Evelyn McGee-Colbert is an American actress and producer. She has made appearances in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013), Strangers with Candy (2005), and The Chronicles of Amber. She is also famously recognized for being the wife of comedian, actor, and TV host, Stephen Colbert.
McGee-Colbert is thrilled to be taking part in Montclair State University’s Women Entrepreneurship Week. She is a graduate of the Circle in the Square Theater School and the University of Virginia. McGee-Colbert started out as an actor but eventually made the switch to the other side of the footlights and spent many years working in nonprofit theater. She held several roles, including director of development for the Chicago Remains Theater and the Drama League of New York. She was one of the original members of the Montclair Film Board and is presently the board president. Additionally, she just joined the board of the Charleston, South Carolina-based International African American Museum. She is vice president of Spartina Productions and an independent film producer.
