Erica Simon is an American two-time Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter who is currently working at KTRK-TV. She serves as a weekend morning anchor and reporter at the station. Previously, she worked at WJAX-WFOX in Jacksonville, Florida.
While she worked at WJAX-WFOX she received two Emmy nominations one for team coverage spot news and one for team coverage during Hurricane Matthew.

Dallas, Texas is her native home. She has won a number of Young Authors Contests and showcased her charisma in plays at Duncanville High School. In addition, after she had completed her high school education, she relocated to the Midwest where she joined the University of Missouri. Later on, she graduated from the university with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology.
In addition, she was able to secure a job at KOMU-TV in Columbia where she served as an anchor and reporter. After a period of two years, she moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where she worked at KTAL. Furthermore, while she was in the Bayou State, she covered Hurricanes Isaac and Gustav prior to also reporting on the front lines of a national police-involved shooting in the town of Homer.
Furthermore, a number of her most memorable interviews are with Civil Rights icon Andrew Young and NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. For many years, she has served as a mentor to teen girls and gone on three international mission trips. In Costa Rica, she assisted in feeding an entire village and taking care of the Sunday school kids at their sister congregation.
While she was in the Dominican Republic, together with her team, they threw a Christmas party at a special-needs orphanage, washed children’s hair in a Haitian village, and visited widows. In addition, she serves as VP of Multimedia for the Houston Association of Black Journalists and is part of the Missouri Alumni Association. Furthermore, she is a member mentor for Houston ISD’s ROSES program, which helps girls of color navigate their educational and personal lives.
During her leisure time, she enjoys spending ample time with her husband, two-year-old daughter, and Dalmatian named Sampson, taking trips to HomeGoods, seafood, and traveling.
