Eric Fisher Biography
Eric Fisher is an American meteorologist working for WBZ-TV as the chief meteorologist seen on weeknight at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. He can also be seen at 10 p.m on WBZ-TV News and on myTV38 (WSBK-TV).
In addition to Fishers work at WBZ-TV, he is also a frequent contributor to CBS News, and he covers severe weather across the country on the “CBS Evening News.” New England is where Eric was born and brought up and he stated that there a number of places on earth that produce weather such as the little corner of the U.S. He has covered; hurricanes, heat waves, blockbuster, tornadoes, and dramatic seasonal shifts.
Furthermore, he clearly recalls the 1995 Memorial Day when he assisted in solidifying his path as a meteorologist as an infamous tornado ripped through Great Barrington in the Berkshires. Fisher began his weather career while watching the radar in the screen. In addition, Eric worked at The Weather Channel in Atlanta prior to joining WBZ-TV News and while he was there, he served as a meteorologist for three years. In addition, during extreme weather, Eric produced and delivered national forecasts and contributed to many live reports for NBC Nightly News, The Weather Channel, MSNBC, TODAY .
A number of the most memorable events that have been reported by Eric include; the 2011 tornado Super Outbreak, the Moore, Hurricanes Irene, Sandy, and Isaac, Oklahoma tornado in 2013, and the massive blizzards that essentially shut down Boston in February of 2013 and New York City in December of 2010. In previous years Eric has worked at WGGB-TV in Springfield, Massachusetts where he served as a morning meteorologist.
Inaddition, Eric is a huge supporter of learning and science. He is a member of both the Blue Hill Observatory and the Mount Washington Observatory in New England. He attended the State University of New York at Albany (SUNY) where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Atmospheric Science and a minor in Mathematics.
