Emily Putnam Biography
Emily Putnam is an American anchor, reporter, and multimedia journalist working for News10NBC as a weekday morning anchor from 4:30 am -7 a.m. alongside Lynette Adams. She joined the WHEC-TV team in October 2017.
When Putnam joined WHEC-TV, she served as an executive assistant and worked her way to joining the reporters and later became a multimedia journalist in June 2020. Her love for journalism started with theater and she is a trained actor who has served as a host of local, regional, and off-Broadway theaters. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Directors of The Company Theatre.
Emily attended Webster Thomas High School where she graduated with a high school diploma. She then joined Ithaca College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in drama. Putnam has also attended Syracuse University where she studied in its Newhouse School and earned a master’s degree in communications with a specialization in journalism innovation. Prior to joining the WHEC-TV team, she worked for non-profits and arts clients as a public relations campaigns, marketing, and social media manager.
