Elizabeth Cook is an American ten-time Emmy award-winning anchor who is currently working at KPIX-TV. She serves as the co-anchor of the 5 p.m newscast and is also a night-side reporter, Furthermore, she was promoted to serve as the co-anchor of the station at 11 p.m edition with veteran journalist Ken Bastida in 2013.

Elizabeth Cook Career

The Los Angeles suburb of La Canada Flintridge is her native home. While she was a senior in high school was when she discovered her love for journalism. While she was in high school, she was Rose Princess for the Tournament of Roses and that needed a lot of public speaking. Later on, she attended the prestigious USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism where she graduated with a degree in Broadcasting.

Furthermore, while she was still at USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, she interned at ESPN and worked at The Jane Pauley Show at NBC. Later on, she was able to secure her first on-air job in Palm Springs where she served as a reporter. In addition, while she worked at KMIR-TV, she served as a producer, reporter, and multi-media journalist before she became a primary news anchor at the station.

While she was at KMIR-TV she covered; the death of President Gerald Ford, visits from President George W. Bush, and two of the deadliest fires in California history. Additionally, she has won ten Emmy awards, two Edward R Murrow prior to being the recipient of two Nor Cal RTNDA awards.

While she works at KPIX 5, she has covered extensively the illegal sale and transport of guns in Oakland and the Occupy movement. Furthermore, she has covered Bay Area connections to some of the world’s biggest stories prior to her exposing the illegal transport of California horses to out-of-state slaughterhouses, and the controversial experiment to protect a threatened species of owl in Humboldt County.

Furthermore, she has been passionate about highlighting some of the Bay Area’s most intriguing women, from 49ers General Counsel Hannah Gordon to the San Francisco Chronicle’s first female Editor-In-Chief Audrey Cooper. After the 2014 Napa earthquake, she anchored shows from downtown Main Street.
