Elita Loresca Biography

Elita Loresca is a Filipino-born American meteorologist who is currently working at ABC13 Houston. She serves as the weekday morning meteorologist at the station. In addition, she joined the ABC13  team in 2015 as a weekend morning meteorologist. 

Elita Loresca Career

Previously, she worked at KNBC where she served as the morning and noon Meteorologist since October 2007. Prior to joining KNBC Los Angeles, she worked at WSVN in Miami since August 2004 where she served as the morning and noon weathercaster.

She has covered the most devastating hurricane seasons in recent history. During her first day at WSVN, she forecasted the 2004 hurricane season with Hurricane Frances. Furthermore, she also did contribute reports for her station from the National Hurricane Center during hurricanes Rita, Wilma, and Katrina.

In addition, she worked at KGPE-TV in Fresno, California from August 2002 to August 2004 where she served as the morning and noon weathercaster. Furthermore, she previously worked at KGET-TV in Bakersfield, California where she served as the noon weathercaster and assignment editor from January 2001 to August 2002.

Her career started at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles where she served as a news associate. While she was at the station, she was responsible for assembling scripts and teleprompter operations during the newscasts. Furthermore, she also assisted the assignment desk.

In addition, she attended Cal State Fullerton where she was a graduate of its Broadcast Journalism Program. She also did attend Mississippi State University where she graduated with a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology. Furthermore, she is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Additionally, the American Meteorological Society (AMS) gave her the Television Seal of Approval in 2009. During her leisure time, she enjoys the outdoors, playing at the park with the kiddos, and fitness classes including; Kickboxing, Pilates, Zumba, Spinning, Barre, and occasional Crossfit class.
