Elijah Westbrook is an American Emmy award-winning journalist working for CBS2 as a reporter. He joined the CBS New York team in January 2022.
Westbrook attended Quinnipiac University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in marketing in 2015. After completing his college education, he joined the CBS news show “CBS This Morning” (now “CBS Mornings”). Elijah worked on CBS This Morning for a number of years, and later on, he secured his first on-air job at WROC News 8 in Rochester, New York where he served as a reporter.
While Westbrook worked at WROC, he covered; politics, and high-profile court cases, and chased major weather events including flooding and blizzards. Westbrook secured a job at WBFF Fox45 in Baltimore, Maryland in 2019, and while he was there, he served as a morning news reporter later he became a fill-in anchor. While working for WBFF, Elijah exposed political corruption inside city hall, and he became the first reporter to break the news on the scandal that finally resulted in criminal charges against former Mayor Catherine Pugh.
In addition, for Elijah’s live in-depth reporting on a Black Lives Matter protest in the summer of 2020, he won an Emmy award. Harlem, New York City is his native home and while growing up, he watched WCBS. During his spare time, he enjoys; watching documentaries about infrastructure, traveling, spending time with family and friends, running, and being outside.
