Elaina Rusk is an American anchor and producer working for KGET 17 as a noon anchor, producer and meteorologist. She also forecasts weather for KERN Radio from the 17 Pinpoint Weather Center on weekday mornings.

Rusk was brought up outside of Sacramento and she studied at California State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in News Editorial and a minor in psychology. In addition, Elaina studied Fine Arts & Humanities in London for a semester and she while she was there, she loved exploring Europe as a broke college student.

Rusk started her career in Yakima, WA where she began as a producer before later working in Lawton, OK as a reporter. Elaina relocated back to Bakersfield in 2008, and while she was there, she served as a reporter and producer. Not long after, she was promoted to the anchoring position in 2011, and she was moved to the weather department. Furthermore, Elaina also got an online certificate from Mississippi State University in Broadcast Meteorology. In addition to her work at KGET 17, she also forecasts weather for KERN Radio from the 17 Pinpoint Weather Center on weekday mornings.

During Rusk’s leisure time, she enjoys volunteering with the Junior League of Bakersfield. She is also the Secretary on the board of the Kern County Science Foundation. Elaina is passionate about promoting literacy and STEM education in Kern County.
