Doug Meehan Biography
Doug Meehan is an American anchor and reporter working for WCVB-TV as a weekday morning co-anchor. He joined WCVB-TV in December 2015, after previously working for KPNX-TV in Phoenix, Arizona where he served as an anchor for almost 3 years.
West Yarmouth is where Meehan was brought up and he attended Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Later on, he joined Westfield State University in Westfield, MA where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. Doug has also worked at WTKK 96.9 FM in Boston where he served as the host of The Doug Meehan Show and as a contributor to The Wall Street Journal Radio Network in New York. In addition, Meehan also worked at WFXT-TV for over six years while serving as an anchor and reporter.
Before then, Meehan worked at WHDH-TV in Boston while serving as a reporter and relief anchor, He also worked at WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas as an anchor and host of “Good Morning Texas. Doug worked at KTVT-TV in Dallas as a reporter, at WTSP-TV, Tampa, Florida as an anchor, and at KEYE-TV in Austin, Texas. Prior to leaving New England, Meehan worked at WPRI-TV in Providence, RI, where he served as a news, weather, and sports anchor and at New England Cable News as a reporter. In addition, he started his broadcasting career at Cape 11 News in South Yarmouth, MA. where he served as an anchor and reporter. The Boston Magazine honored Meehan as one of Boston’s “The Fabulous 40,” in 2006. He also completed the 110th running of the Boston Marathon in 2016.
