Dorothée Lepère Husband

Lepère was married to François-Henri Pinault, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kering. The two tied the knot in 1996 and divorced in 2004. They were blessed with two children; a son Francois Pinault (born 1998) and a daughter named Mathilde (born 2001). Henri Pinault then went on to date Linda Evangelista, a supermodel from September 2005 to January 2006. He had a son from his relationship with Linda named Augustin James Evangelista (born October 2006). He is currently married to Salma Hayek, an actress.

Pinault became President and CEO of PPR in March 2005 and helped it grow into an international group that focuses on high-end fashion. He got rid of PPR’s most important retail assets, like Conforama, CFAO, Printemps, Fnac, and La Redoute, and merged PPR with the Gucci group. It has been a subsidiary of PPR since 1999. This put all of Gucci’s luxury brands, like Gucci, Yves Saint-Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Boucheron, Alexander McQueen, and Stella McCartney, under his direct control. He added more high-end brands to the group, like Girard-Perregaux, Brioni, Qeelin, Pomellato, Christopher Kane, Tomas Maier, and Ulysse Nardin. In June 2013, he changed the name of PPR to Kering. The new name comes from his Breton roots; in that language, “Ker” means “home” and sounds like “caring.”

Pinault made it clear that his group was committed to long-term growth. He started using the “environmental profit and loss” (EP&L) way of accounting in the early 2010s. This was done in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and was slowly applied to all of the group’s brands. Lepere started the Kering Foundation to fight for women’s rights in 2008. In 2015, he coordinated the Women in Motion program at the Cannes Film Festival to bring attention to issues affecting women in the film business.

In 2009, he paid for Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s documentary Home. This documentary shows aerial shots of different places on Earth. Moreover, it talks about how people are upsetting the planet’s natural balance. The Corporate Knights Global 100 index named Kering the most sustainable textile, clothing, and luxury goods company in January 2018. Moreover, Pinault was asked by French President Emmanuel Macron to create the Fashion Pact at the G7 meeting in August 2019. Nevertheless, the Fashion Pact is an agreement signed by 56 fashion companies that promise to take specific steps to lower their impact on the environment.

More than half of PPR’s sales fell between 2003 and 2014, but the company made 40% more money. Luxury sales for the group went from 3 billion euros in 2005 to 10 billion euros in 2017. He stated his plan to beat Louis Vuitton with Gucci over time in 2018 when sales had grown 27% to 15.5 billion euros.

Pinault confirmed in 2018 that Kering was leaving the Sports & Lifestyle sector to focus only on the Luxury industry. Pinault has been head of Groupe Artémis (Kering’s parent company) since 2003. He also owns the golf course Chateau Latour, and the auction house Christie’s. Additionally, he owns the Ligue 1 football team Stade Rennais F.C. In 2015, Artémis also put money into the Compagnie du Ponant, which runs cruise ships.

Artémis is also in charge of the Pinault Collection. However, in 2016, Pinault started a project to fix up the Parisian Bourse de Commerce building and turn it into a modern art museum with the Pinault Collection name. Pinault opened the $100 million investment fund Red River West in 2017 to help Artémis’s investments in the tech industry. In 2019, he helped the Stade Rennais F.C. win its first Coupe de France since the Pinault family bought it in 1998. The Pinault family gave $113 million through Artémis to help fix up Notre-Dame de Paris after the fire in 2019.
