Destiny McKeiver is an American traffic anchor working at WBRC 6 News. She serves as a morning traffic anchor on the morning Good Day Alabama newscast. In addition, Destuny joined the WBRC 6 team in October 2023.
Destiny McKeiver Career
Jacksonville, Florida, is McKeiver’s native home, and she attended the University of South Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication in 2012. While she was on campus, she assisted in producing a student-led newscast that aired on PBS. Prior to her graduation, she interned at CBS, and during this time, their network covered the Republican National Convention in 2012. In addition, she recalls meeting Scott Pelley while she interned at CBS, and she stated that it was one of her most memorable moments.
After having graduated, Destiny has worked for over 10 years in the news business. She worked at KTVO back in 2013, and while she was there, she served as a weekend evening anchor and multimedia journalist. Later on, she joined the CBS 19 news team in Tyler-Jacksonville. During her time at CBS 19, she served as a weekend evening anchor. In addition, she was also a multimedia journalist as she shot, wrote, edited, and produced her own stories. After having worked at CBS19 for 2 years, Destiny later worked at WJXT for over 2 years while serving as a reporter.
Not long after, McKeiver relocated to Charlotte, where she worked at FOX46, and while she was at the station, she served as a reporter. In addition, she also worked for First Coast News as a news anchor for 2 years before later joining the WBRC team in October 2023. Furthermore, Destiny is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Throughout McKecare’s career, she has covered a number of major events such as Hurricane Matthew’s impacts and the death of George Floyd. She has also covered a mass shooting at a Jacksonville, Florida, Dollar General and the 2020 presidential election. During Destiny’s leisure time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, reading, spending time with her family, and shopping.
