Denise Middleton Biography
Denise Middleton is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX 26 as a weekend anchor. She joined the FOX 26 news team in April 2019, after previously working for THV 11.
Middleton was born and brought up in southwest Houston and she attended James Madison Senior High School where she graduated with a high school diploma. She gained an interest in journalism during her childhood days. Denise received a number of local scholarship programs including; the Linda Lorelle Scholarship Foundation, the Evan E. Worthing Scholarship Fund, and the Soul Patrol Scholarship Program which is supported by former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W Bush. In addition, during her senior year of high school, she was selected to give the keynote speech at a fundraising gala for Soul Patrol. The fundraiser was attended by former President George H.W. Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush.
She then gained the courage to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. She attended the University of Houston where she studied broadcast journalism and graduated in 2007. Middleton secured her first job in Hastings, Nebraska where she served as a general assignment reporter. Later on, she relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana where she served as a morning anchor and reporter. In addition, Denise spent 5 years in Little Rock, Arkansas where she served as an evening anchor before she joined FOX 26.
In 2017, Middleton assisted in leading the team’s coverage of Arkansas’ controversial executions of many inmates. Over the years, Middleton has covered numerous natural disasters in her career from winters and tornados. Furthermore, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. During Middleton’s spare time, she enjoys; watching movies, volunteering in the community, cheering on the UH Cougars at all of their sporting events, mentoring, and spending as much time as she can with her husband and children.
