DeMarco Morgan Biography
DeMarco Morgan is an American anchor working for ABC News as the fill-in anchor for T.J. Holmes on Good Morning America (GMA3) alongside Stephanie Ramos. He joined ABC News in December 2022, after previously working for CBS2.
DeMarco Morgan Education
Morgan attended Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he graduated with a diploma in 1997. He later joined Jackson State University, Mississippi where he graduated in 2001, with a Bachelor of Science degree, and in 2002, he graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism with a master’s degree in journalism.
DeMarco Morgan Career
While DeMarco worked on his Master’s at Columbia, he assisted in founding the J-School’s student chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), He also interned with CBS Evening News and 48 Hours. He also lectured journalism for two years at Jackson State University and at Milwaukee Area Technical College he taught English. In addition, after DeMarco had graduated, he secured his first job at CBS affiliate WJTV in Jackson, Mississippi where he served as a reporter.
Morgan later joined ABC affiliate WISN in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2004, and while he was at the station, he co-anchored for three years alongside Portia Young. He then joined NBC station WTVJ in Miami in 2007, as an anchor and reporter. DeMarco joined WNBC in December 2008, as a weekend anchor, and also as a cut-in anchor for MSNBC. Furthermore, he also worked for NBC affiliate, WXIA in Atlanta as the co-anchor of the weeknight 6 pm newscast and reporter for the 11 pm newscast.
Later in October 2015, he left WXIA and joined CBS News as a correspondent. Later on April 17, 2019, an announcement was made that he would be shifting to CBS station KCBS in Los Angeles on May 6, 2019. Morgan served as a weekday morning anchor for the 4:30 am – 7 am and 11 am newscast alongside Suzanne Marques on KCBS. Furthermore, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he anchored select newscasts for CBS Weekend News from Los Angeles and CBS station WCBS in New York. However, he left the CBS2 News This Morning team on April 29, 2022, after having worked at the station since 2015.
