Before working for CNN, he was a reporter and writer for UNICEF’s Africa Services Unit. McKenzie finished from Duke University with degrees in both public policy and psychology. He then went to New York University on a Broadcast and Knight Foundation Scholarship and got a Master’s in journalism.
