Dave Rexroth Biography

Dave Rexroth is an American Emmy award-winning meteorologist who is currently working at WXYZ. He has been serving as the chief meteorologist since August 2010. In addition, he can be seen during the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts

He has been serving as a meteorologist for almost two decades and for the last ten years he has been working at WXYZ. Furthermore, he joined the Channel 7 news team as the meteorologist for “Action News This Morning” and “Action News at Noon” in 2000.

Dave Rexroth Career

Previously, he worked at WFOR-TV in Miami where he served as an evening meteorologist for a period of three years. While he was at the station, he covered both Tropical Storm Harvey and Hurricane Irene. Furthermore, he has also worked at WRGB in Albany, New York, and began his career in Des Moines, Iowa at WOI. Additionally, he has also done the weather for national television shows such as CBS News Saturday Morning and Good Morning America Sunday.

He attended the University of Chicago where he graduated with a master’s degree in Meteorology prior to also having graduated from Luther College in Iowa. Additionally, he is a sports fan and is happy to be living and working in the town of the Red Wings, the Pistons, the Lions, and the Tigers.
